Song: Rude Buddha
Artist: Trans-global Underground
This veteran London-based collective is tight. According to Wikipedia, their style has been dubbed “ethno-techno” or “world fusion.” From 1998’s Rejoice, Rejoice, today's EarhHead tune has a sprightly, irreverent vibe with an undercurrent of impish mischief. It also reminds me of an impromptu festival of colourful nomads feverishly revelling - whirling dervishes and belly dancers showing off their gloriously swivelling flesh… everything moving in luscious curves around graceful yet sinewy spines.
Very much some kind of frenetic global mash-up going on here. It's both respectfully classical and utterly modern. They must have had fun recording this one.
