Since the late 70s I've experimented with oils and dabbled in mixed media and painted objects, but my principal medium is acrylic paint on stretched canvas or wooden panel. Colour and texture are what drive me. I'm also interested in how contemporary media technologies, in collusion with the mechanics and ethos of advertising, have made their stamp on our collective subconsciousness. Yet much of my work references landscape traditions, riffing on the mystical properties of the natural world and the psychological and emotional aspects of colour. Above all, I thrive on the process itself. I am preparing for an upcoming solo exhibit at GAS this November. Several of my paintings are also on view at Le Papillion On The Park.
